Renee's son, Anthony, experienced excruciating encephalopathy and screamed for 30 hours after is 4-month well-baby visit. The doctor's office instructed Renee to give him Tylenol, and disregarded her concerns, callously.
After that point, Anthony development slowed way down. Renee explains that it was like letting the air out of a balloon. Anthony experienced chronic ear infections, missed milestones, late to walk, and had garbled speech. She tried hyperbaric oxygen therapy when he was 4 or 5 and he started speaking in full sentences.
Anthony is now 20 years old. His favorite thing to do is read historical fiction.
Anthony is a very bright man and, in some ways, above average intelligence... but he will need income and family support for life.
